Who runs this site, how businesses get on it, and how it pays for itself.
I am a sole trader based in Birmingham, and I built and run this site myself. There is no company behind it and no team. If you email the site, the reply comes from me.
I built this because I went looking for a decent dog groomer near me and could not find a straight answer. Google gave me the rough shape of it, a handful of names and some pins on a map, but not the things I actually wanted to know: who is genuinely any good, what they charge, whether they are actually nearby or halfway across the city, and whether anyone has trained for this properly.
So I put the answers in one place and kept going until it covered the city. 134 groomers across 25 areas of Birmingham, each with the rating they have actually earned on Google, the area they work in, and a phone number that goes straight to them. It is the site I wanted when I was the one searching.
Nobody pays to be included, and nobody can pay to rank higher. Listings are built from information that is already public, mainly Google Business profiles, and every one goes through the same checks: it has to be a real grooming business, in the area, with a verifiable presence. Businesses that are very poorly rated with barely any reviews are left off, because putting them in front of someone's dog helps nobody.
If you run one of these businesses, you can claim your listing free, correct anything that is wrong, or have it removed entirely. No argument, no cost.
Every star rating and review count on this site comes from Google. I do not write reviews, collect them, or edit them, and there is no way to buy a better one here. The ordering on each area page follows those ratings.
Worth being straight about, because most directories are not.
Listings are free and always will be. A groomer can pay £29/mo for a Featured placement, which pins them to the top of their own area and marks the entry as Featured. Only one business per area can hold it. I also build and host websites for groomers who do not have one.
That is the whole model. Paying does not change your Google rating, does not get you reviews, and does not get you into an area you do not serve. A Featured listing is clearly marked as one, so you always know what you are looking at.
